Monday 2/4 | AQUARIUS NEW MOON | 15-degrees 4:04pm EST

In my mind, this is the new moon that energetically heralds the beginning of the new year. It’s mid-winter where I am, but we’ve made it halfway through the dark and our faces and thoughts have subtly turned towards spring. However, if you’ve taken my free course FitCraft, you know that the day of the new moon isn’t the most “athletic”. This is when the body’s forces (like yang, qi and blood) are lowest. Keep that in mind as you do your Lunar Benchmark Workout today. Go easy on yourself if you feel like you don’t perform as well as you’d hoped. We’ll test this Aquarius Benchmark again 3 more times. And, I guarantee your performance will be much different under an Aquarius Full Moon.

Tuesday 2/5 | New moon phase | Moon in Aquarius + Pisces | Chinese New Year: Yin-Earth Pig/Boar

The moon is finally getting larger and that means we’re beginning our waxing moon Aquarius season workouts this week. We’re halfway through Aquarius season. I want you to remind yourself of why we’re doing these routines—why we’re building burning & pressure in the body—why I’m making you work on explosiveness. These workouts were designed to help you transform your breakdowns into breakthroughs by skyrocketing you through limiting beliefs. Go watch the Aquarius season intro video again to get inspired for the waxing half of the cycle.

If you already have a strong workout habit in place, you’ll be feeling ready to work as the moon makes favorable aspects to almost all our most athletic planets today: agile Mercury, powerful Mars and electric Uranus.

Wednesday 2/6 | New moon phase | Moon in Pisces

The moon is touching in with Venus today, reminding us to touch in with the softer, gentler aspects of our life. Depending on your personal birth chart, lunations (a fancy word for full & new moons) can take a lot out of us. Don’t be surprised if you need to recover a bit from Monday! Although you could certainly get a training session in today and be just fine, I also encourage you to take advantage of today’s relaxing Piscean and Venusian vibes. Maybe go a little slower, lengthen your cooldown stretches & ease your way back into your body—just as the moon eases its way back into visibility.

Thursday 2/7 | Waxing crescent phase | Moon in Pisces

If you have an ephemeris, or lunar calendar, you’ll notice that this is a really busy day astrologically. AKA there’s way too many symbols on this day (LOL). But don’t worry! The general vibe of the day is pleasant and full of opportunity—if you take the initiative. You’ll see a lot of symbols that look kind of like asterisks. These are called sextiles and they’re considered to be favorable aspects (or relationships, or conversations) between planets. The thing about sextiles though is that they require your participation. A sextile may knock with opportunity, but it’s up to you to answer the door.

In terms of getting a sweat session in today, the sextiles may push you along if you’re already in the habit. But, sleepy, ethereal Neptune vibes are also strong today and may take the stage.

Friday 2/8 | Waxing crescent phase | Moon enters Aries

There’s nothing like a baby Aries moon. Hopefully you’re beginning to feel back to normal and more like yourself after our most recent new moon hibernation. Qi, yang and blood are beginning to stir, gather, warm and circulate again (you can’t take the Chinese Medicine out of me guys…sorry!).

Saturday 2/9 | Waxing crescent phase | Moon in Aries

Even though half of us have a rest day on the schedule, if you’ve missed a session here or there this week, this is the perfect day to make it up. Mercury and Uranus are forming a sextile (see Thursday’s Sweatscope). In the physical astrology world, this means our nervous systems (ruled by both Mercury and Uranus) should be feeling stimulated and ready to work…in the good way! If Uranus and Mercury were squaring one another or opposing one another, we might be in for some anxiety or nerves. But with a sextile, instead of a jumpy scream, I imagine a nervous system that’s purring like a well-oiled machine. When the central nervous system is revving, we often equate this with having a good workout. This is why I focus so much on making sure you don’t skip your warm-up and “sweat before you sweat”. A good warm-up = purring nervous system.

Sunday 2/10 | Waxing crescent phase | Moon in Aries + Taurus | Mercury enters Pisces

Although the moon is still in Aries, Mercury will saunter into the Piscean water depths in the wee morning hours (well, in EST). As you know by now, Mercury’s placement and power reflects in how our nervous system in functioning and also in our ability to access (or not access) things like speed, quickness & agility. Mercury in Pisces is not “bad”. But it’s definitely a big change from what you’ve been feeling over the last month as Mercury hopped through electric Aquarius. My point is—allow yourself some transition time. Let your body catch up and get used to this new way of operating, which might be slightly slower, but with a bit more flexibility and grace.
