Can you believe it'll be February by the end of this week?! I can't even wrap my mind around it. But, it's true..the Sun will reach 15-degrees Aquarius (Imbolc), which marks mid-winter or mid-summer depending where you are in the world. This makes me want to cry (just a little bit) because where I am in Maine, winter hasn't even really started yet. But enough of my weather whining...(actually, I love the snow so I'm just being dramatic. #sagittariusrising)

If you missed it, I released a really fun free course this week called FitCraft. If you enjoy these Sweatscopes, you're really gonna geek out on FitCraft. It's basically an astrological guide to crushing your fitness goals and crafting a magical workout practice. We talk about all the things--from making your own body sigils to creating your own workout schedules based on the daily lunar weather. Join for free here!

FitCraft

This is our last week working with the Aquarius waning workouts. We start our waxing routines next week. I want you to do what you can to improve and build on your performance from last week. Maybe that means a few extra reps, maybe that means grabbing a heavier weight, or maybe that means sprinkling a little extra effort on top.

Ok--onward to this week's Sweatscopes! Remember the color coding: days highlighted in green are the best for a great sweat session, yellow days are ok and red days are best for rest.

Monday 1/28 | Last quarter phase | Moon in Scorpio

Today’s Scorpio moon is in an easy, fluid conversation with nebulous Neptune. If you’ve enrolled in my new (free!) course FitCraft, then you might remember that Moon-Neptune trines are typically one of our rest day aspects. We’ve had a busy moon month with those rude (LOL) eclipses and, finally, the lunar cycle is beginning to turn inward. I encourage you to turn inward today as well and take some time to reflect instead of sweat. But truly, this isn’t the direst rest day astrologically and some of you may feel motivated to get going on a Monday. If you haven’t done your Scorpio Sweat Spell & Lunar Benchmark Workout yet, get after it today.

Tuesday 1/29 | Last quarter phase | Moon enters Sagittarius | Sun-Mercury conjunction

Today, Mercury gets lost in the bright rays of the Sun. In the biz, we call the most potent part of this conjunction “cazimi”. Notice how your nervous system and mental body are functioning today. Are you killin’ it—working with ease, full of ideas and sharp? Or do you feel frazzled? Both are possible, even within the same day. The Sun can make Mercury brilliant and shiny. Or, it can heat and speed Mercury up to such an excessive degree that it fries our brains like scrambled eggs (and believe me, Mercury doesn’t need any extra help being fast). In terms of your gym hustle…GREEN LIGHT. Please, go move and give the extra heat moving through Mercury’s body systems a positive outlet. Otherwise, you might have trouble falling asleep, or experience heightened anxiety. Go easy on the caffeine and phone use (talking to myself…yeah right).

Wednesday 1/30 | Last quarter phase | Moon in Sagittarius

It could be a little bit hard to get moving today, but you might be very glad once you do. The vibe today is a little bit lazy and a tad extravagant. But remember, planetary energy expresses on a spectrum of possible outcomes. On the other side of extravagance, we might find enthusiasm. Regardless, I want you to pause and truly check-in with what your body is asking for. This is why I’ve made today’s workouts optional. Trust yourself. Sometimes, when the body is feeling blocked and tired, we need to go in the direction of rest. And sometimes, the best medicine is a fog-parting movement session.

Thursday 1/31 | Waning crescent phase | Moon in Sagittarius + Capricorn

This is a fabulous day to get a sassy, full body workout in. The moon is in the wildfire sign of Sagittarius and is throwing lightning bolts with Mars and Uranus (AKA plyometric delight!). Today’s Moon will also kiss Venus, who’s finishing its journey through Sagittarius. This Venus wants to have f-u-n. Typically, Venus can be a soft obstacle blocking our sweat sessions. But not today! This hot Venus is all about some booty-building-feeling-yourself-vanity work.

Friday 2/1 | Waning crescent phase | Moon in Capricorn | Mars-Pluto square

Although the moon is in the late waning stages, we have another exceptionally strong energy directing the day. A Mars-Pluto square is nothing to ignore—in fact, I’d argue that it’s impossible to ignore. Sometimes, people born under Mars-Pluto squares can deal with a myriad of intense physical conditions, most of them centering around deep inflammation and toxicity. Mars is the inflammatory process and sometimes represents poisons, while Pluto likes to take the heat of Mars and hide it deep within our physical form. Overtime, this square can result in violent expulsions and release of waste and toxins. Wow—that was quite the medical astrology rabbit trail.

Anyhow—back to exercise. Mars-Pluto people, and therefore aspects in real time, are notorious for being able to push themselves past their own breaking point. They endure, endure, endure, until they inevitably collapse. Now, of course this is not something I encourage. But, when it comes to creating a workout schedule and pulling on planetary energy to assist you in the gym, the power of a Mars-Pluto aspect is unmatched.

Saturday 2/2 | Waning crescent phase | Moon in Capricorn | Venus-Uranus trine | Imbolc

Welcome to mid-winter (or mid-summer)—the magical point each year when the Sun reaches 15-degrees Aquarius. The lunar weather today is very cold and stiff for multiple reasons: the sign, the phase and the conjunctions with both Saturn and Pluto. If you feel cold, stiff, creaky, or slightly depressed, don’t be alarmed. The best movement today is gentle and circulating—like an easy walk, or some light stretching.
